Ensconced on the mighty Mojave River in the San Bernardino Mountains, Deep Creek Hot Springs includes a trio of big pools. The temperatures of the pools can vary anywhere from 96 to 102°F (35 to 39°C). There are two ways to reach the springs and both require a day pass for each person.  

13Sykes Hot Springs, California

Sykes Hot Springs is nestled deep within Big Sur’s verdant Ventana wilderness. It is one of the most popular and well-known backcountry hot springs in the state. You’ll have to complete a challenging hike to reach this natural retreat. This is also a “clothing optional” hot spot.
