9. The Ravine Gardens State Park

 

The unique Ravine Gardens State Park is located in Palatka.  One of the nine official New Deal-era state parks in the state, it features a pair of ravines that are as deep as 120 feet with steep, 45-degree angle banks.  It spans an area of 60 acres.  Also included here are sturdy, 30 feet high suspension bridges that cross the ravines and a 1.8-mile loop that visitors can drive, hike, or bike to take in some noteworthy views.  There are also trails into the ravines.

Come hit the links at Florida’s exceptional array of golf courses.  The famous Florida Historic Golf Trail offers both great golf courses with golf history.  The noteworthy trail includes a number of famous golf courses created by several renowned course architects and some welcoming lesser-known public, military, resort, and semi-public courses from Pensacola to Key West.  The majority of these courses were constructed during the “Golden Age” of golf course architecture between 1913 and 1939.
