Hiking to the top of great Gros Piton is also one of the most popular things to do in the Caribbean. Your trek begins not far from the quaint village of Soufriere. The well-marked trail is only 3.2 miles but still a little challenging.
Along the way, you will discover interesting rainforest flora and fauna and even enjoy a rather impressive view once you reach the halfway point. The second half of the hike is also quite memorable. It includes inspiring views of the stunning sister mountain known as Petit Piton, St. Vincent, the marvelous Maria Islands, Saint Vincent, and an assortment of individual local fishing villages from a height of approximately 799 meters above sea level.
You can access this unique natural attraction from the neighboring isle of Tortola. Explore the area within the massive granite boulders that surround the white sound beach and turquoise waters. Walk the maze-like path and enjoy the hidden coves, mysterious caves, and natural pools beneath the cozy Caribbean sun. Be sure not to miss Devil’s Bay either!
