10.Yosemite National Park, California

Not only is this park well-known for its beauty, but it is also known to some as a great place to discover hidden gems and enjoy “off-the-beaten-path adventures.” The Aussie couple can’t say enough about the backcountry trails found in Mariposa Grove and Tuolumne Meadows for those who want to get away from the crowds. They also praised the park’s popular Half Dome.  

They noted that the views from the summit are “breathtaking.” Other memorable memories from their September visit include the view from Cathedral Lakes following “a fresh snowstorm.” They suggest taking the seven-mile loop trail that begins at the Cathedral Lakes trailhead.

9.Zion National Park, Utah

This park is quite popular with hikers and other outdoor adventure aficionados. The waterfalls, rivers, and canyons are epic. The heart of this hot spot is Zion Canyon.  

One trail here amidst the scarlet-cliffed gorges leads into the well-known Narrows. The traveling twosome favors the view of the large sandstone walls and describes the feeling as “something from another world.” For those who enjoy challenges, they recommend the trail to Angels Landing via the West Rim Trail. They also suggest the Subway trails and the trail to Observation Point.
