This old mining town is the gateway to popular Hatcher Pass which leads to the Independence Mine State Historical Park and features great views of the Talkeetna Mountains. Go glacier-spotting, visit the live reindeer farm and the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race headquarters and museum.
